Callie’s Wags to Whiskers – Terms & Conditions

By scheduling and leaving your pet in our care, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These terms govern all grooming services performed by Callie’s Wags to Whiskers (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Health & Safety

All dogs must be current on rabies, bordetella, and distemper/parvo vaccinations. Proof may be requested at any time.
You must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, or behavioral concerns prior to service. We are not responsible for complications arising from undisclosed issues.
We reserve the right to refuse or stop service if your pet exhibits aggression, extreme stress, or if continuing could compromise safety.
Pets with fleas, ticks, or other parasites may incur an additional cleaning fee or be refused service.

Grooming Risks & Emergencies

Grooming involves handling tools, products, and animals. While we take every precaution for your pet’s safety, minor nicks, clipper irritation, stress, or allergic reactions can occur even under careful handling.
Pre-existing conditions such as matted coats, sensitive skin, or ear infections may worsen during grooming.
In the event of a medical emergency, we may seek immediate veterinary care for your pet at your expense.
You acknowledge these risks and hold Callie’s Wags to Whiskers harmless except in cases of proven negligence or willful misconduct.

Matted or Neglected Coats

Severely matted coats may need shaving for your pet’s comfort and safety. Dematting can expose or cause skin irritation. We are not liable for side effects caused by mat removal. Additional fees apply for excessive matting.

Liability Waiver

You release and hold harmless Callie’s Wags to Whiskers, its owner(s), and representatives from any liability for injury, illness, escape, or death of your pet, damage to personal property, or any harm or loss occurring before, during, or after grooming, except in cases of gross negligence.
Our total liability shall not exceed the cost of the service rendered.

Cancellations, Payment & Pick-Up

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged up to 50% of the service price.
Late arrivals (more than 15 minutes) may result in rescheduling or partial service at full charge.
Pets must be picked up promptly after grooming; late pickups may incur a holding fee.
Payment is due in full at the time of service. Accepted forms of payment: cash, credit/debit card, Venmo, or Zelle.

Media Consent

You grant us permission to photograph or record your pet for marketing, social media, or training purposes unless you request otherwise in writing before the appointment.

Dispute Resolution & Remedies

To maintain fairness and reduce unnecessary litigation, you agree to notify us in writing within seven (7) days of any issue or concern about services rendered, giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve or remedy it.
Both parties will first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith discussion.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to submit it to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall take place in Riverside County, California, and each party shall bear its own attorney’s fees and costs.
Both parties waive the right to a trial by jury or participation in a class-action lawsuit.
In no case shall either party be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Maximum liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service in question.

Hold Harmless for Property Damage

Clients acknowledge that they enter and leave the premises at their own risk. Callie’s Wags to Whiskers is not liable for damage to vehicles, personal belongings, or property while on-site.

Veterinary Release Authorization

In the event of a medical emergency, the groomer is authorized to seek immediate veterinary treatment for the pet. The client agrees to be responsible for all associated costs.

Severability Clause

If any part of these Terms & Conditions is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Returned Payment / Chargeback Policy

Returned checks or chargebacks will incur a $35 fee plus any collection costs. Repeated offenses may result in termination of services.

Price Adjustment Notice

Prices are subject to change based on coat condition, behavior, and service time required. Final pricing will be discussed prior to completion of service.

Prepayment or Deposit Option

First-time clients may be required to provide a deposit to confirm an appointment. Deposits are applied to the final bill and are non-refundable for no-shows or same-day cancellations.

Noise & Parking Courtesy

Please be considerate of our neighbors. Keep dogs leashed, limit barking, and park only in designated areas.

Client Access Restrictions

Clients are permitted only in designated drop-off and pick-up areas. Entry into private areas of the home is not allowed.

Senior Dog Waiver

Senior pets or those with health conditions may be at higher risk for stress or injury. The client acknowledges these risks and releases Callie’s Wags to Whiskers from liability for health complications that arise during or after grooming.

Sedation Disclaimer

We do not sedate animals. If your pet requires sedation, you must obtain veterinary services prior to your appointment.

Behavior Policy

Repeated aggressive or unmanageable behavior may result in termination of grooming services. Muzzles may be used when necessary for safety.

Force Majeure Clause

We are not liable for delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to power outages, natural disasters, or illness.

Data & Privacy Policy

Client and pet information collected is used solely for grooming services and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.

Policy Acknowledgment Update

Policies may be updated periodically. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revisions.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any enforcement action or arbitration shall occur in Riverside County, CA.

Abandoned & Unclaimed Pet Policy

Pets must be picked up within the agreed-upon appointment window. If a pet has not been collected within 24 hours of the completed grooming appointment and we have been unable to reach the owner or emergency contact, the pet may be treated as abandoned in accordance with California Penal Code §597.1. In such cases, we reserve the right to contact local animal control or a licensed boarding facility. Any costs incurred for boarding, veterinary care, or animal control during this period are the sole responsibility of the owner.

Client Age & Legal Capacity

By booking an appointment and agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. You also confirm that you are the legal owner of the pet or are expressly authorized by the legal owner to arrange grooming services and agree to these terms on their behalf.

Emergency Contact Requirement

Clients are required to provide a secondary emergency contact at the time of booking. This person must be reachable during the appointment and authorized to make decisions regarding the pet’s care if the primary owner cannot be reached. In the event of a medical emergency, we will attempt to contact the primary owner first, followed by the emergency contact, before authorizing veterinary care.

Sick & Contagious Pet Policy

For the health and safety of all animals in our care, please do not bring your pet to an appointment if they are showing signs of illness, including but not limited to vomiting, diarrhea, nasal discharge, coughing, lethargy, or known exposure to a contagious condition such as kennel cough or ringworm. We reserve the right to refuse or immediately stop service for any pet displaying signs of illness upon arrival. If a pet becomes ill during grooming and it is determined the condition pre-existed the appointment, the owner is responsible for any associated costs. Appointments cancelled due to illness with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

No Guarantee of Results

While we strive to provide the highest quality grooming experience, we cannot guarantee specific aesthetic results. Grooming outcomes may vary based on the individual pet’s coat condition, texture, temperament, cooperation, and overall health. We will make every reasonable effort to achieve the style requested, but modifications may be necessary for the safety and comfort of your pet. No refunds will be issued for grooming results that differ from expectations due to these factors
